Embossed silver frame is cut out to expose the faces and hands which are painted on the board beneath. The entire scene is painted on the board, but is covered by the silver frame which is a repoussé silver cover called an oklad. The image is of Mary and the Christ child surrounded by four saints. Russian inscriptions above figures on silver frame.
Label Marks
Mark embossed on right side of frame resembles the number 10 (the 0 has a cross bar in center).
